Peppermint is a versatile herb known for its refreshing aroma, wide array of culinary uses, and natural medicinal benefits. With its bold flavor, peppermint can be used in teas, desserts, salads, and as a garnish. It’s also prized for its digestive and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a popular ingredient in herbal remedies and natural skincare.

How to Grow Peppermint from Seeds:

Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost date or sow directly outdoors after the last frost in USDA Zones 3-9.

• Peppermint thrives in full sun to partial shade, preferring moist, well-drained soil.

• For indoor starting, plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in a quality seed starting mix.

Plant spacing: 18-24 inches apart for proper airflow and growth.

Days to germination: Peppermint seeds typically germinate in 10-16 days.

• Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged for best results.

Days till maturity: Harvest leaves in as little as 90 days.

• Once established, peppermint is a low-maintenance herb that can be harvested throughout the growing season.

Peppermint is known for its vigorous growth, making it an ideal addition to your herb garden, container garden, or as a ground cover. It can even help repel pests like ants and mosquitoes. As a perennial, it will return year after year, offering fresh peppermint for all your culinary and medicinal needs.

2nd time purchasing this item. The 1st one lasted 2 years, but my boat hasn't been used a lot either. The marine mechanic who replaced it for me said it was definitely time to replace it. He said it fits and works just fine. Has good water flow. As for quality and value, I'd say decent. The price is better than an OMC OEM pump. I plan on using my boat more this year, so we'll see how it holds up. I'll get it replaced at the end of the year. Ease of installation, NOT EASY. The lower unit has to be completely removed from the outboard. Some outboard are easier than others and as old as this one is, it's probably easier than some of the newer ones. I've watched a couple of videos on YouTube on how to do it and I might try to do it myself next time. It cost $360 to have it done and that's with me supplying the pump. He said it took him about 1½hours to do the job, but I was charged for 3 hours labor. Probably what the book shows. I'd buy it again and I'll try to do the job myself.
