The Oriental Arborvitae is an evergreen tree with dense foliage that is in flattened, vertical sprays. It is one of the most widely grown conifers in temperate regions. It is a tough, durable plant with attractive foliage and curious, ornamental seed cones that are light bluish-gray with curved scales. It is commonly called Oriental thuja or Oriental arborvitae. Platycladus orientalis is native to China, Korea and the Russian Far East. It typically grows as a dense, conical to columnar tree to 18-25’ tall. Also grows as a large shrub. Plants tend to open up with age. Scale-like yellowish-green leaves in flattened sprays in youth, becoming darker green with age. Foliage may bronze up in winter. Oval cones (to 3/4” long). Reddish-brown bark. Thuja orientalis is a synonym of this species.

        It's an ok book and it definitely has some interesting things going on it, but it also has those "ask yourself" these questions if you can be an innovator which is where every human being ponders and talks themselves into having the type of characterisitic the question asks if they have and that makes that human being feel the best about themselves. Bottom line the book has some good info, is it better than say reading the biography of each innovator that they cover (if one is available)....I can't say that it is.

        Super informative and easy to read!

        Fantastic! I didn't expect a book about taxes and financial planning to be a page turner, but it certainly was. I almost dreaded starting it because this topic is such a headache, but I started and then devoured it in a single day. What I really appreciate is that it went into detail where most books about author business just give mealy mouthed generalizations, not specific to any particular country, and then warn you that their non-advice "does not constitute legal advice." Write It Off actually goes into meaningful detail about the different types of business structures in the U.S. and how to decide which is best for you. The section on deductible expenses made me realize that I've been missing an opportunity to write off a significant expense that I hadn't even considered. The section at the end with a list of helpful expense -tracking and budgeting tools was super helpful too. I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily, but I would definitely recommend this to any creative with a small business. It's not just for authors!
