Charlie Hunter and Bobby Previte's new 12 GALAXIES makes good use of Previte and Hunter and their telepathic groove aesthetic to create a "playalong" and production library of 12 sessions in 12 wildly divergent tempos and in 12 wildly different feels, from funky low down, to uptempo shuffle, to rock, swing, surf(!), even an excruciatingly slow, drum-brush driven ballad.
But if that weren’t enough, they play in all 12 keys, and each tune is strictly in the ageless 12 bar Blues format. We edited loops into 12 bar phrases, allowing you to easily drag and drop the various grooves into any DAW or sampler. In addition, we provide multitracks and Logic sessions of every complete recording, allowing you to quickly plug in and record yourself playing with this stellar rhythm section.

About Bobby Previte:
Bobby Previte is a composer and performer whose work explores the nexus between notated and improvised music. One of the seminal figures of the 1980s New York ‘Downtown’ scene, Previte is the recipient of the 2015 Greenfield Prize for music and was a Guggenheim Foundation Fellow in 2012. He has received multiple awards for composition from the NEA, NYFA, NYSCA, New Music USA, The Jerome Foundation, The New York State Music Fund, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, and the American Music Center. Mr. Previte has been an artist-in-residence at the Rockefeller Foundation in Bellagio, Italy, Civitella Ranieri, The Montalvo Arts Center, The Hermitage Artist Retreat, and nine times at the MacDowell Colony.
About Charlie Hunter:
Charlie Hunter is an American guitarist, composer, and bandleader. First coming to prominence in the early 1990s, Hunter plays custom-made seven- and eight-string guitars on which he simultaneously plays bass lines, chords, and melodies. Critic Sean Westergaard described Hunter's technique as "mind-boggling...he's an agile improviser with an ear for great tone, and always has excellent players alongside him in order to make great music, not to show off." Hunter's technique is rooted in the styles of jazz guitarists Joe Pass and Tuck Andress, two of his biggest influences, who blended bass notes with the melody in a way that created the illusion of two guitars.
